Ken

He manages All of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. You can often find him leading tours around the park, working with local schools teaching children about the wildlife or simply picking litter and looking after the site.⁣

He came to Bow in 2002, looking for an opportunity to grow in his career in nature conservation. No two days are the same for Ken which is one of the reasons he enjoys working in Bow.⁣

The site has been used by celebrities to film TV shows and music videos. This has meant Ken has the fun role of meeting Idris Elba, David Guetta and Mist!⁣

Working at the cemetery park has also given Ken a unique opportunity to interact with wildlife in an urban context.⁣

In his own words, “people can enjoy wildlife much more locally without feeling like they have to get on a train to the countryside. They can just put on their Nikes and walk round the cemetery park and see these unusual, unexpected things in Bow”.⁣

The team at the cemetery park have really enjoyed seeing the site become busier during the past year and hope that more people continue to visit and use it as a place to enjoy the seasons.
